My 66 project

Started as a 352, three speed column shift, swb 66 f100.

It is now a 4bbl 390, three speed floor shift (soon to be toploader), 9in with 3.89 gears.

This will be no show truck, but it will look nice for the money I have in it. All the parts I have traded around for or bought at significant discount making due with what I have. Id say after paint and all mechanic work ill have about 4000 in this truck. I'm really loving the fe big block torque and think a 671 sitting on top would be hella fun..

I painted the truck myself, did all the body prep work, did all the brakes, mechanic work and interior. It makes me feel accomplished having a project like this

Looking good. The blacked out trim is neat looking, and your wheels look great too.

Very Nice. I like the color combo on the wheels and trim.

Thanks for all the kind replies! I blacked the trim out because I do like the "blacked out" look but also because my trim is not show quality. Although it had very little dings and wasn't bent, it was very tarnished that no aluminum polish would fix. I'm happy with the decision.

The wheels when I got them were rusty on the inside and were pretty rough. I traded the cheesy chrome wheels inthe first picture for them and a nitrous kit. 15 bucks later in supplies, they are painted and look 'correct'

Today I painted my front fenders and valance for the front. Pictures will be up soon!

Took some measurements and went to the machine shop today. There was some small rusting on the back valance piece of the bed, so they bent me up a 90 deg bend with a 1/2 lip on it to take place of it. Got home, set it into place and it fit absolutely perfect! Going to cut out the rot and weld this piece into place.

Really love how you taken parts that look some what ok; but not show quality and painted them to really stand out and enhance the stance of your ride. Great job!

good work

perfect looking side emblems. I have '65 emblems on my '66. I'm pretending to be a '65 right now. I'm in the process of changing mine out. I have the correct emblems, but I still have to buy the twin-I-beam inserts. Isn't that a six cylinder hood emblem? I like the blackened trim. Great pictures.
