Well Wada Ya Think??????
Lets start with I thought my aternator was on its way out so I head on over to Canadian Tire and pick up a new 100 amp unit(sunday no one to test the old one) So as I am installing it the little white wire
falls off the big plug. Over to my parts truck I go and remove plug and splice it in .Check and clean battery conections, solinoid conections.
Check bat voltage 12.50 fire up the truck all is good
14.50 volts. Then I put headlights on minimal draw then heater fan
no low speeds? only high? bat at 12.50 with heater and headlights on
also when I turn heater fan on and off my tack also jumps?
I added a new ground strap from the existing one on pass firewall
directly to the neg on the bat it didn't help.
I know my battery is good but I did try a swap, and same thing.
Wada ya think folks any thoughts on this?
Jared
for it and the motor. But my problems didnt end there next morning turned the key and zilch nada nothing check batt terminals pos was a little loose tightend it up and vroom she fires right up but very low voltage. New alt???. So I start with a totall revamp went to Ford bought new plugs for the alt,new solinoid, new batt cables ,replaced old ground straps and added a few extra. And spent today cleaning up the entire harness front to back. Even put new bulbs
in the tail lights and side markers and cleaned and lubed all the sockets. Even bought some cool wire covers
to make it all look real neat and tidy. Every thing is just TICKEDY BOO just a little drop in voltage when I turn fan to high when the headlights are on but goes right back to 14.50 volts
Ya I know new to me truck should of done this in the summer!
But hey you know what they say hind sight is for people who walk backwards :P
