glasspack muffler on a 5.4 help

How much louder is a glasspack muffler than an aftermarket muffler?
I have a 2001 f150 with the 5.4 and I have a cold air intake in which sounds real nice but on the back end I have an aftermarket muffler. Its called the violator and its made by pipes it sounds real nice too but I'm lookin forsomething that's really gonna roar with out spending hundreds of dollars and that 30 dollar price tag on the glass pack cherry bomb looks good and my friends got a 7.5 with a glasspack and it roars. Is it worth chaging out the muffler with a glasspack? I'm really looking for a more aggressive loud sound any help at all is appreciated. I could do all the installation myself so thatll pretty much be free. Thanks

I think it will do what you are after. Glasspacks are not the freest flowing things, but it should be loud and fit your budget.

If you want something that will be less restrictive and longer lasting than a glasspack, there are Yonaka resonators on eBay. They are high quality units made in Japan, not the cheap Chinese stuff. The big difference it will have versus most glass packs is it won't have the louvers inside that create turbulence. Any glasspack without louvers is gonna be good for performance versus ones that have the louvers.

Here is a link to one. Brand New universal 3" RESONATOR STAINLESS STEEL 18" | eBay

I run one on my Taurus to reduce noise in combination with mufflers, but on its own, it should be pretty loud.

If you want it loud,
I would run it with no muffler before I bought the glasspack.
With stock 4 cats in place, you can just run a straight pipe(no muffler) and it wont be to loud. And if it is to loud for you ,then you can try the glasspack.

This ^^^ i have a cat back straight pipe dual exhaust set up on my ol 4.6 and i personally think it sounds sexy. really nice roar when you kick it in the ***, but pretty quiet cruising. . . now the 5.4 will probably be a little louder but i bet it would be pretty close to the same.
