Only thing is, the cash it takes to buy said 4 banger car could either be saved which is a fast way to put cash in your pocket lol or go towards a TON of gas in your paid off land barge. Tune it up, keep it runnin right, drive easy and drive less. Its the price we all pay to own what we love, deal with it! Or sell your truck, buy a beater car and be unhappy lurking around this place without a truck to admire and be proud of, Ill deal with my 13mpg thanks! lol

Well dude I WAS getting 16 at best on flat land. Moved up here and I would get 14. Suddenly she dropped down to 8. I ran Seafoam through the fuel. Bumped back up to 12 and 13.
Sounds like an injector-ish type issue....My #6 injector has a bad O-Ring or something of the sort....You spray starting fluid around it, the engine starts stumbling.....So I need to get into that soon....But it hasn't affected my MPG's.....But yea....We fret over 1-2 mpg's, while everyone else dreams big......
You give a ford truck guy 3 mpg's, its like santy clause came early...With birthday presents too!
Yea...that is true Bill.....What do ya think I'd be like, cos I just nabbed 20mpg highway, with a 4.9l, 5 speed, and a bed tarp...so 3 DEFINANT mpg's? I'd cream myself.....
Roll up beside a lil honda an be like "YEEEEAHHHH....IN YO FACE!!!!...."....Then they'd look at me like I'm a tard and drive off....
I want to see you say that to a rice burner pilot.
Had an S-10 pass me on the highway. Loud exhaust, lowered, rims. I was in that mood. I couldn't catch up to him - until a long, tall mountain. Betsy is a real heffer but she can't tell the difference between flat land and a mountain.
I drive about 40%city 60%highway and if I try, I can average about 17mpg. Gas isn't too bad compared to you guys, ir's about 3.71 on average around here
I own and drive an 88 F350 powered bay a 460 and a C6 so I am a Ford owner. The big'un is used to transport our work tractor and implements.
BUT We also own a Little 93 Nissan pickup powered by a 2.4 liter and a 4 speed auto.
If I do not need the big'un at 8 MPG I use the little'un at 25 MPG.
The little Nissan has been very durable, it has carried around the 460 engine and parts and a farm tractor diesel engines and parts without any issues and is the only other vehicle here.
Little'un currently has 227,000 miles, except for a timing chain the engine is still all origional.
^^^ sounds like the same story with my dad's 87 Ranger. It's a four banger with 280,000 miles on it. The motor is all original exept for the timing chain, it's beat up, but it gets 30mpg and never leaves him stranded.
I did the fuel filter and o2 sensor too. Along with new vacuum lines. I might have to look into that air filter.
Mom wont let me get a motorcyxle or i would. A kid at my school rides an enduro everyday, 78 mpg.
I really dnt think i could drive any slower.
I know exactly what you guys mean. All im wanting is 15 mpg and i would be happy. I was throwing around the idea of driving dads old 95 ranger 4x4 with the 4.0 5 speed but i dnt think its going to do much better
Another option is a good fuel injector cleaner, like redline or berryman's B12 chemtool. You should also look into running seafoam through your intake manifold. If you do it correctly, it can really help. I seafoam mine once a year and my emissions were next to nothing
