4.6l skipping

info-2000 F150 lariat 4x4 4.6 L - heater core hose broke on highway. Shut it down before guage pegged. Rigged it with propane plug and tie wrap. Limped to station to fill with water. Guage never pegged. Next day started running rough after warming up. By the time I got to work it was skipping bad with code. Stopped at local auto parts, code read missing cyl3. Pulled all wires and blew out plugs and wire ends. Ran good for 1 mile started skipping bad. Started pullin plugs. #1 worn with build up all others good. Replace #1 plug. Ran good for 1 mile, started skipping. Swapped some of the wires with old set. No change. Next morning cold and ran fine for 2 miles started skipping. Please Help.
