Side molding value
Hi all, I have been thinking about selling the side molding from my truck for some other parts since i won't use it. I am planning on having the dent be empty just because i like that look more.
I have been trying to look on ebay for how much used side moldings would go for and i haven't found much of anything.
I have the bed pieces which are in good shape, just maybe a very few small dings, and i have the short little rounded cab corner pieces, and the door pieces, I can't remember what the fender pieces look like, i will find out this weekend.
But say I have the full set in typical used shape, how much would the set be worth?

Depends if it's the skinny moulding or the wide moulding w/black vinyl insert, the local pick-n-pulls around here charge $40-50 for a complete set of the skinny and $100-125 for a complete set of the wide.

Another fact to consider is there current condition and the condition after removal, they can get a little bent up if you get in a hurry.
But other than that, Mtnhby is right on as far as prices I have seen.

If he does not want to break up a complete set, I have some spare pieces and parts laying around, and shipping should not be to bad.

nothing! i have mint sets of a 79 bronco, upper and lower sets of a 78 150 and a set of a 77 top only that i've been trying to sell for three years and i get offers of 20 bucks! im now conviced that ill just scrap everything i dont need for some gas money

dang. well I guess I will throw them back up in the rafters of the garage and maybe my grandkids can sell them for something in 20 years.

In used shape...not very much. Chances are there are scratches and the anodizing is cloudy. Typically in that shape, you're looking at topping out at $100 for the whole set.
How 'mint' are we talking? Shoot me a PM with the details, I could be interested.

They are the wide ones with the black insert.
I want to keep them as a set so it might be a bit quicker to sell.
I was thinking they should be worth about 75-100 so I guess i was pretty close, I think i'm just going to throw them up on ebay and see what happens.

Just an FYI, pvc pipe makes an excellent shipping vessel for the side moulding pieces.
