Oh, I'm sure he would sell me the bed....not!!
There was a slick on ebay several months ago listed at $100K. Personally, I think this one looks better but still a little pricey for me.....

There was one in LA a few weeks ago for $90,000 and it had a list of all the add ons, the only thing that would have given it value was that it was a Crew cab.

We need only look at these ads to verify that there is a severe drug problem in our country. I only have $5000.00 in my truck, and I already know I better drive a lot of value out because it won't come back to me when/if I ever sell.

To pay that kind of $$$ you would have to have proof that James Dean or someone more famous owned and drove it.

I laughed at your comment Broomfield, you are spot on! I think this guy must be a crazy glue sniffer to think he can
get that. People just don't realize that they'll never get what they put into these trucks...buy it, fix it and drive it.
That crewcab was beautiful...they seem so rare....how many were made anyways?

Broomfield and Cropduster....you guys are spot on.

I buy my antiques to drive and I tend to keep them forever. I've had my 54 Mainline since 1986....bought it with 10,900 miles on the odometer and drove it through my senior year in high school, while I was in the military, all through college and for two years after that!

I have a list in my head of the old cars that I want in my stable and I now have 2 out of the 4. (I'm still lacking a 29 Model A Coupe and a 26/27 Model T Touring Car)

So, when I buy them, I pay a price that I'm comfortable with and I improve them slowly over time, knowing full-well that I would most likely never get that money back out of them.

When I finally go to that great car-lot in the sky (hopefully MANY years from now), my kids will probably watch Barret-Jackson on TV and try to get huge numbers out my collection....but that will be their problem, not mine!

Well, you can't blame the guy for asking for the big bucks. If you don't ask, you sure won't get it! If he hired a shop to do all those body mods, engine mods, chassis mods, interior & paint to "show quality", he probably has more than $70K in it. He says it has won 20 trophies in the last 2 years so it must be much nicer than you can see in the small CL pics.
People out here in SoCal will often drop more than $70K on a new BMW, Lexus or Mercedes so the seller might just luck out and find someone willing to spend bucks like that for something that is more unique and different than his wealthy buddies. It may sound crazy, but I hope he gets his price, or close to it because it ultimately helps the rest of us to build resale value in our own trucks. JMHO

37FordGuy....you've got a good point there.....

except for the trophy part

these days, all you have to do is go to a local "car show" in a grocery store parking lot and chances are you'll get a worthless plastic trophy for something

To Mr. Cropduster
You've seen my truck it's not a $70,000.00 truck but for you or anyone else for that matter I will take $69,999.99 for it right now. Count your change, break into the kids college fund, cash in the aluminum cans, you too can have the "Gangstatrk" Owned by Gangstakr. (Not yet a celebrity I play one on FTE)
I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. I will autograph it just for you. Sorry no checks. If paying in cash I will still need to see three forms of Identification.
