changed out the flywheel and disc/pressureplate. Luk single mass kit, wasn't sure if it still had the dual mass.everything went fine came apart good and went back together good.took it for a test drive all worked smooth clutch wise. BUT vibrates bad @2200-2500 rpm (sounds like a heard of bees in the cab). and vibrates all through the rpms not as bad at idle but still there.took the belt off to check AC PS VP ALT ect.ect.still the same vibration.driveing it down the road with the trailor (12,000 lbs) disengaged the clutch held the rpms the same.no change in vibration.looked at the harmonic blancer looks good but ?the only thing that was chaged was the flywheel/clutch kit.truck is a 96 F350 4x4 7.3 S5-47.the vibration is there siting in the shop or going down the road.I'm thinking harmonic balancer?motor mounts?flywheel?yes i know that diesels vibrate, but shouldn't be like this.need some thoughts or some else has had the same thing happen?
I cant remember on these trucks if they are an imbalance fly wheel or a balanced flywheel. If they are an imbalance and you put the flywheel back on a bolt hole off it will cause horrible vibrations and is hard on a crank.
I have a LUK set up in mine, actually the second flywheel and the third cover plate and disk. Took them four tries to get it right for same problem you have. Man did I get tired of pulling the trans. I finaly had to put the dual mass set up back in the truck to prove to the idiot dealer that the problems was the LUK flywheel not my truck and then they would not refund my money. Neither LUK nor the dealer ever did squat for me for all my troubles either. If you can get them to give you your money back id go with anyone else.
