Warning about changing your air filter
If you read the diesel supplement you will find verbiage in the maintenance section that details how to change the air filter. Note that it says to disconnect the MAF sensor harness before opening the air box. Here's why:

Some of you have seen pictures in THIS THREAD of my air filter's premature death at 9,000 miles.
When I called a local ford dealer asking about a new filter, the parts guy after learning my story suggested having their service department look at it to see if there was any potential warranty issue they could cover it under. I obliged and headed in where they took a look at it right away. After seeing the filter they determined that they could do nothing to cover it under warranty, but offered to order a new filter for me. I declined, as I didn't like the price they quoted me for the filter, and headed home. In hindsight I should have bought from them because of how good they were to me about looking at it right away.
Looks like when they removed and reinstalled the filter they jerked too hard on the air filter housing and tore the harness for the MAF sensor. I'll be in contact with them in the next few days, hopefully they fix my truck without issue.
Please don't let this happen to you! Disconnect the MAF sensor before opening the airbox!
If they give grief about it, the tech should know that has to be disconnected per the manual so therefore he would have had to plug in a broken connector.
Tomorrow should prove interesting. I'm not angry about the harness, I figure this is a simple mistake by a tech who didn't know to unhook the MAF sensor. I am a bit frustrated about them not getting back to me...
