Escape Hard Starting

1. Usually will need to crank engine over 3 to 4 times before engine will start. This escape has between 120k & 160k miles. What could be the possible issues? <o></o>
2. Is there an alternate battery group to use for this car that is not so dang expensive? <o></o>
3. Horn has never worked on this SSUV. The location for the horn fuse has no contacts. <o></o>
4. Was the factory remote entry alarm connected to car horn or is there an auxiliary horn for the factory alarm.

1)look at: a)leaky injectors, b)old spark plugs, c)leaky intake manifold gaskets, d)check valve in fuel pump allowing drainback leaving the fuel rail empty. Test for a & d by cycling ignition key from off to on to off half a dozen times, allowing the fuel pump to run and stop each time. That would insure fuel rail is full, then try to start. check c with carb cleaner or WD-40 sprayed around gasket areas. It would also idle poorly with a leaky intake.
check b by removing and inspecting if you don't know the age. Be aware plugs can take out the COP coil and the PCM in the worst case of misfire.
2)IDK, but a Delco 91-6YR can be crammed in to fit.

Likely the horn is the horn is ... Why install and carry around 2?
