My friend just got a set of 5 foot tall smoke stacks and he said i can have them for 50 bucks!
Now that sounds like it would be pretty sweet I held them up on the front step of my truck where i would run them through and I have to say I think It would look really sweet
But I have been plannin on puttin a custom roll-bar back there that has a double hoop coming up from the front step to and goin back and connecting to the bed cap near the tailgate. I really wanted to do this and i wanted to through like 5 offroad lights on the bar too.
Im torn between the two idk which one i should go with
Yall think there might be a way to incorporate both and have it loo good?
I have considered putting a 4 or 5 inch stack on my lightning. It would have to be a single in the front right corner of the bed with an angle cut just below roof line. It would have to be functional . It would be tricky to find out what muffler combo would make it sound good. A flame thrower would be added fun. Its your truck, if you want one ,do it.
Not a fan of stacks, but your truck... I do like roll bars and using as a light bar gives it function. Both could be done though... Mount bar 1st then stacks since easier to move stacks then loops...
I'd definitely go with the roll-bar. Ya need a diesel or big block and big a$$ truck to pull stacks, and sometimes that doesn't work. A roll-bar and lights will look good.
I totally agree here, that is a terrible thing to do to a poor defenseless lightning.
Now then. First off, here is a visual aid of the truck in question:
I think this is an excellent looking truck, and it does look great as is. So I can understand why people are saying to do neither. I really really don't like stacks on petrol trucks. To me, it's the same as putting a spoiler on your mom's Camry. Totally pointless and trying to look like something it's not.
The roll bar on the other hand, does seem to make more sense, it does make a great place to mount offroad lights. I think it's a more practice use of the bed space and looks better than stacks.
more visual aid:
Keep in mind, this is all just my opinion. As people have said, it's your truck so you make the decisions. But I figure I can get away with giving my brutally honest opinion since I was asked.
LMFAO 3in stacks with flaps level with the top on the cab and a roll bar that fits inbetween the stacks would be the **** my flat bed 1 ton is getting stacks soo and its a gasser but WHAT EVER YOU DO install the stacks with some kind of rubber bushing or somthing cause if now you will hear every little tick of sound from ur motor lol
It's your truck man, do as you wish...Just try to approach it as I do; The same thing others have done, just a different way of doing the same thing...
I use my bed for hauling stuff around so wasting valuable bed space with 2 hot exhaust pipes is dumb. As far as the diesels go with stacks I also don't want everything I put in my bed covered with soot. Stacks should stay on the big trucks where they belong!
