I've got a 04 f-150 ccsb 4x4 with a 5.4 and have a cracked manifold on the passenger side. Is there such a thing as a good quality not to expensive header? I have seen prices from 4 to 800 bucks. Might as well upgrade if i am gonna do it!!
So what brands are good? Looking for something to fit the stock y pipe and has to be smog legal.
Will headers wake this truck up? Has an intake and flowmaster catback already. Looking into some sort of custom tuning for it also.
Any help would be great guys. Thanks!
I'm definitely not the authority on the subject, but since no one else I talking I tell you what I've heard. As far as I know short tube headers will do little to change your performance. Long tube headers might give you some more top end power but you'd sacrifice some low end grunt. Apparently Ford did a pretty good job fine tuning this aspect of the truck. Welcome to FTE!
Yeah the search function is your friend. I've been around here for 3 years and only have 124 posts because I most of the stuff I need an opinion on has already been discussed.
shortys will do very little but they have to be a little better than manifolds. long tubes are for TQ and they will make alot more of a change to the truck but require more exhaust mods. JBA Headers for 04-10 Ford F-150 5.4L 3V | eBay
