Matt's tunes are freakin' awesome! I pulled the innovative tunes out of my truck and put the SRL in and was shocked at how much more power the truck has and now much more responsive it is. She smokes pretty good too. Got 19mpg @ an average of 68mph on a tril last week with the SRL tune.

Also, the cruise control does not launch you through the window unlike the Innovative tunes.

Thanks for the response Chris, especially the comment about the smoke. Makes me feel a little more comfortable. I agree the tune is awesome. Truck is so much more enjoyable to drive, even with regular acceleration and it runs a lot smoother.

The tranny re-learn is really just a fine tuning process as it adapts. Your shifting should be very good immediately after loading a custom tune. More than a few times I've pulled my 11K# trailer to the track with a tow tune, loaded a race tune to make passes, and re-loaded a tow tune to pull back home. No tranny re-learning between the changes. I have 100K on my original tranny and I have beat the absolute crap out of it.

I also run the SRL tune and i love it. i am getting 18 mpg average per tank and fill it to the rim every tank. i put my truck back to stock this morning when i went to the dealer for oil change and tire rotation and balance. the main reason i put back to stock was because i knew they would drive it when i asked them to check out the bounce my truck has. so i put it stock so they wouldnt be gone all day and burn my $140.00 of fuel up. if the SRL was in there i may still be without my truck cause the truck is a different truck. when i put it on stock this morning and headed to the dealer i was like damn this thing is a turtle. then on the way home from the dealer i tuned it back to SRL and were back to green flag racing. its great. sooooo much better than the canned sct tunes.

One of the biggest things I noticed was the cruise control. I about ate the steering wheel when tapping the brake to kill the cruise with the IDP tunes but the Gearhead tunes are just perfect. I don't get good mileage around town because it is too damn much fun to stand on it. I did get 19mpg on a trip home from ND doing 70mph. Thumbs up to Matt!

Yeah, the cruise disengage works great. I also like the way the torque converter stays locked when you left off the go pedal until your speed falls somewhere between 45-50 mph, at which point it unlocks. No more constantly unlocking then locking the converter when you let off the gas and then push back down on the gas in traffic.

I also noticed that the truck shifts earlier than it did with IDP and it locks the converter up at 45mph which is nice for in-town driving.

I used the X3 myself. I've heard that the Livewire devices are unstable. Matt can hook you up with the SCT device as well.

Hey buddy not sure if you have the SCT yet but this is the cheapest I ever found it. SCT SF3 Power Flash - Ford Gas & Diesel Vehicles - Truck Customizers

337.00 once you put it in the basket

If you have it, then just call Matt and get his 3 tune package which should cover all your needs.
