If you do remove the entire engine please post photos and a small write up time allowing---it would be useful learning how someone without an elaborate shop goes about this task.

Old thread here, but since I just saw it done, I can assure you that it's not as bad as some think removing a 5.4. All of the stuff on the front comes apart pretty easily, but the intake has to come off for sure. He doesn't work on vans much and didn't use a special lift, and left the hood in place folded back. I didn't look closely to see if it was hitting the windshield, but it didn't hurt anything. Also, he didn't lift my van off of the ground. He worked with it sitting next to his lift on a flat floor, not even on blocks. The front seats stayed in place too. I wish I could've stopped by more than once to watch the process, but work didn't permit.
