Hey guys,
I know I haven't been around much lately but I am in a bind and could really use some help.
My speedo stopped working the other day and at the same time the fuel gauge needle went up past the full mark.
I think the fuel tank selector valve is not working either but not 100% on that.
As a result the E4od has gone into limp mode and is hard shifting and the like.
I get the feeling like it is a power supply to these systems or perhaps a bad ground in that area.
I guess my question is have any of you guys had this problem or does anyone know where I would be best off starting with my fault finding.
Could the wiring cluster in the steering column affect that. My turn signal switch was acting up and all sorts of crazy things started happening to my truck. Mine is a 5 spd so I don't know of any affects on transmission. I replaced that multi-switch which was included the turn signals as well. It seems the turn signal switch affects several things. I doubt this is your issue but I though I would at least throw in my $.02 worth of knowledge....LOL
Good luck! I am sure someone else on here is going to be more helpful.
Well funny you should say that because I recently had the steering column out of the truck.
It was a couple of weeks ago but I coiuld have loosened or bumped something.
yes especially since you have had it apart recently something may not have been plugged completely in it would work at first but worked loose with vibration that happened to me last year I had hi beam head lights, turn signals, and em flashers, but no lo beam head lights no brake lights or tail lights. I found a plug in the steering column that was loose I squeezed it together and every thing started working again.
