EAC flathead taken off of a good running 1951 Mercury 4 door sedan. Motor has been sitting for 3 years in the garage. Was going to put in my roadster but going SBC instead.
Converted to alternator and have starter. Jimmy(951)-545-0492
looks complete. has some newer goodies. did you hear it run? got good compression? what kind of money? if it sells for little money, buy it, if too pricey, will you use it?
EAC heads and intake do not guarantee it's a Merc engine!! No easy way to confirm, but I'd pull a head so you can look for cracks too. Just depends on your level of trust. It's certainly likely but nothing like proof.
PS I'd be interested in some of the accessories off that, fan in particular.
Seth, PM me,and I'll put you in touch with a friend who's a machinist/mechanic and lives up near Hanford, close to Fresno. He has many contacts for - (I hate to say it ) - " old school" rodders and motor-heads.Plus, he happens to be a great guy.Steve.
Almost looks like the RH head has been leaking water at the back. Also keep in mind that motor has car style water pumps/ mounts which would need to be changed for truck use.(More $$$)
price seems a little steep unless you can pull the heads and verify no cracks and condition.
It could be a great engine or a really spendy coffee table.
its very tempting but i didnt think about the"its a car engine" and all the mods i will have to do.
I just got a stock frame from hams52 and i want to start fresh" just like articyblock recommended.

From a seller's point of view...I'd tell anyone wanting to pull a head to take a flying leap. I had a guy wanting to do that when I had my flathead for sale. Needless to say I sold it with heads untouched.

If I wanted $1300 for a flatty, I'd have the heads off so people could see.
Wanna, my truck has a car engine, the bods needed are really just the WP's and the clutch disc. I'm running a Merc oil pan. There might be some throttle linkage to mess with with the different carb.
I dont want to but the voices in my head tell me to,and all her family and all my family....I will turn into a divorce statistic very soon.but I know the 2 secrets of keeping a good marriage now,,,,Thank you Daddy and thank you Louis CK.
