need a connecting rod
i bought a 6.0 that had spun a rod bearing and i would like to fix it, i need a rod and a crankshaft or need to buy a complete engine at least a short block that i can take the crankshaft out and regirnd it and use a connecting rod out of it. if anybody has one or parts please let me know, or if anyone knows where i can get new/good used parts for relatively cheap that would be great also

Sounds like you bought your buddy's 5 minute's of fame truck. You would have to strip the engine down 100% and have the block cooked to get any remaining bearing material out. Usually when you spin a rod bearing you take out the rod next to it by gauling the thrust surface. I wouldn't waste my time or money on this block, I would rather buy a rebuilt short block.

I heard "hoping its true" that I could pull the piston down far enough turn it sideways and get the clip and wrist pin out of the piston, change the rod and put it back together. Someone on here said rods are 75 dollars each. If this is true then I need to know where to find that source. I was hoping to get it running and put the motor and tranny in my 97 ford. It might be about.the same thing as shooting myself in the foot on purpose... but I'm up to it! :-) if I can't get parts for this thing on the cheap then I am not going to spend any more money on it and just try to sell it for what I have in it. I bought the whole truck for practically nothing so I have a complete doner truck with computers and everything

sounds like your buddy got the crap end of the deal on that. id just get a short block and pull the good parts out of it. i looked into getting a short block for my brothers truck a while back and found a few for about 4k. i got lucky though and found a whole motor wiring and all for 4600 and a junk yard with 48k miles on it. imo thats what i would do is check junk yards
