earlier this week, i had water leak onto my fuse panel/gem. thanks to all the help on this forum, i took it apart to find water on the 2 big plugs behinf the fuse panel. (which are held in by 10mm bolts.) i dried the plugs and opened up the GEM to find no sign of water damage. i put everything back together, and now, once in a while my blower fan will turn on and drain the batteries. but if i loosen/tighten the 10mm bolt on the back of the plug it will stop. i am loosening/tightening the plug closest to the drivers door. for instance, it just turned on about 10 minutes ago, so i tightend the bolt as tight as i could get it, and the fan remained on, so i backed the bolt off a half of a turn and it the fan stopped. can someone help me? i hope my rambling makes sense lol
Might try to swap your blower motor relay. I think there is a spare that is not used. If you need to disable the blower motor it would probably be easier to unplug the gem fuse. I think that should disable the fan, easy enough to check.
where is the spare blower fan relay you speak of located? i am going to assume the relay i can hear clicking once in a while is the blower relay? it clocks irraticly.
will update tomorrow. i pulled my gem and dried it out, sprayed some electrial cleaner on there calked all the way down my winshield hopefully that will fix. ill let you guys know
Few years back, had similar problem. Radio, interior lights would stay on after shutdown. Finally had to get battery disconnects and switch off every time I parked.. At same time, was having trouble with driver's side window. Sometime work, sometimes not. Finally had to replace window drive motor (full of water). Problem solved.
Now keep truck in garage and have had no problems for years. Don't know what one has to do with the other but all is well!!! Water does not help electrical system.
