Any one using a boost cooler set up if so do you like it and is it worth the money up front for the long run?

I have heard of a boost fooler but not a boost cooler. The fooler or inialator will keep your engine at full power even over 19 psi of boost.

The intercooler is a boost cooler.

What type of boost cooler are you asking about?

I know you are not asking about a boost fooler because you have an OCR per your sig.

I made myself a system based on what I found HERE I used the largest nozzle listed in his parts page, from McMaster-Carr. The system works great and reduces my EGT's as soon as the system kicks on!

Since my 97 is not intercooled, I mounted the nozzle into the Y pipe, facing the turbo outlet. That seemed to me, to be the best mounting position. I also have a 35 gallon water tank, that used to be the fresh water tank in an RV. It works great and I don't have to refill it very often. I towed our fifth wheel to Tennessee last year (500 miles, one way) and used about 20 gallons of water.

I plan to install another system in my e99, but it will have the nozzle in one of the intercooler tubes. It will be just before the intake spyder.

The hobbs pressure switch on the 97, is set to activate the system at 7PSI of boost. I may adjust the 99's to 10PSI, since it makes more boost easier than the 97.

hey EMD-DRIVER do you use tap water or distilled water, just i noticed they DIY bloke says to use distilled water, i have a 5 stage water fillter for my aquarium that takes absoutly everything out of the water, not sure if distilled water is the same though, if i could use that water it would be heaps cheaper as i filter about 500litres a week for the tank.
thanks for the link to mate, ive been wanting to do this one day, love playing around with DIY stuff.
my mate and i made a very simple version years ago on a rally car that we have, its first run i think the vacuum drew the methonol past the pump, in turn we used nearly a full washer bottle in a quater mile and poped the head gasket but we had fun doing it. the nossle was a old size 6 mig welder tip soft soldered and redrilled smaller... LOL. the things we do.
cheers

Hey Josh...

I also use heavily filtered water.. I know it can't get all the minerals out, but I'd rather not have to dump 30-1 gallon jugs of water in my tank..

Good luck man!

EMD do you just run water or do you run a mix of water/meth? Does it help MPG and power?

I run water only. When I add methanol, the price goes from free to more than I want to spend. As soon as the water hits the engine, I get a boost of power and my boost gauge on the 97 jumps up, at least 5-7PSI.
