wich is better

hey all got a question wich intake makes more hp and torqe? a single plane intake or a dual plane intake just wondering what to get for my 400

jpannozo, I think you would want a dual plane for low end torque and mid range horsepower.

The single plane is for higher rpm power, from what I have gathered.

thanks dave something like a edelbrock performer 400 non egr??

Yes, you see these on e-bay all the time. You may be able to get a deal on one there.

well i already have a intake , performer 400 and a holley 750 dbl pumper i picked these up for 75.00 bucks there brand new the kid was hard up for money!!!!

if i recall (hours playing with dd2k), a single plane makes more peak tq and hp. having said that, it is peak tq and hp. a dual plan makes way more tq from 1500-3250rpm. it varies but about 45-15tq from low to mid-range rpm. to get this you lose about 10-25hp through out the hp curve. so a dual plane for torque, and a single for power.
i think the weiand dual plane has a really good rpm range.
