Mixture Question ?

I just put on my 600 CFM Edelbrock carb and I wanted to know what the symptoms are for missfireing. I read it could be caused by too much gas in the A/F mixture? Also it could be Ignition, but this is what it does. I can start it up, it fires right up. Let it idle untill it gets warm. If I give it a little throtle, it starts to missfire and if I give it a little more, the missfireing gets more constant. Somone told me it might be somthing to do with valves out of adjustment? I need everyones opinion on this please! thanks!

Mixture Question ?

Without having the timing marks to use a light on it, I would loosen the distributor and turn it about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch and barely tighten. Just enough to keep it from moving, then try giving it gas and if it is a little better then you know your heading the righ direction. If it is worse, then take it the opposite direction.

Before moving the distributor, take a yellow or bright colored marker and mard the Distributor and Engine with a small dot. That way you know exactly where it was at.

You can adjust it out with a little patience.

Mixture Question ?

Was it misfiring before the carb change? You may have an air leak.

Mixture Question ?

I had an air leak, put it was because I forgot to plug the port in the very back of the carb, I pluged it and it runs way better, but still missfires, I found the timing marks, and am going to time it by light when its done raining. ill keep you up to date on how things are going.
