521 Cam question

521 Cam question

I just got back my 521 and they gave me the cam sheet and its states:

valve lift-.588/.588 int/exh
duration 302/310 int/exh

@.050" duration 234 int/242 exh


is this cam , small, mild, big i have zero knowledge about cams does anyone have a video of a similar cam?

That is a nice cam, could be a little bigger but on the street it will work great. I have a 562/588-234/244 in my 429CJ it pulls hard to the rev limiter at 6400. With your cubes it will calm it down a bit.

I'd consider that relatively mild, but should definitely help streetability.

My good friend has a 480ish CI motor in his '77 lwb 2wd F150 with a smaller cam in it and it runs like a bat out of hell, cant get enough traction anywhere, even when entering the on ramps to the highway. I think you will be extremely satisfied with that cam. Do you have a vacuum canister?

Just verified that my friend's cam is Comps 268H. Quite a bit smaller than yours. You will have a good time with that.
