"Thermactor" means catalytic converter.

The Thermoactor Bypass (TAB) is controlled by a solenoid (next ot the EGR solenoid. This valve must function in order for the Air Pump to blow air into the catilytic converter. If you have the patience, trace the hard plastic line to the solenoid or look at the VECI label on the core support or on the underside of the hood, there should be a map of the emissions vacuum line routing. I had the same problem on a 90 F150 wit a 300 L-6 Engine. You need to see if there is any continuity between the terminals on the solenoid. If no, then replace.
