Consider superduty B codes leaf springs for the rear...definitely will soften up the ride. I put air bags on mine when I carry our slide-in truck camper.
Do you think the swap is worth on a 2wd f250hd? Mine rides like a brick, I been checking the 99-07 swap as it seems likely cheaper option also read on some forums the excursion ones work ok.
I dont really tow and I when I load it its maybe 200-300kg at most.
Mainly interested in softening up for when i go camping with the kids, trails beat us up really good when off roading.

With the stock rear leafs I couldn't get any movement at all while jumping on the rear bumper and with the B codes I could. Wouldn't say they were squishy, but definitely softer. Shock valving makes a difference too. You cannot simply compare Bilstein to Monroe, you must know the valving rates. I've had two different 5100 series Bilstein shocks on my truck with different valving rates. Anyone telling you to buy X brand versus Y brand is simply not informed. Is it easy to find the valviing rates? No but it is worth the research. I have a post somewhere where I list all of my part numbers. I will try to find it.

Thanks a lot for the information, seems like this is the way to go to make it more family friendly.
Took the 03 Silverado Duramax to get some plywood and stuff today. Exactly what I told the old lady. After the work I just did on the F250 it rides just as good as the Silverado and the front end on the Silverado is new too. Had no idea a D50 could ride that good. A ton more work to get it there compared to the Cheby but its possible.
