So Here I am almost a month later, between work family obligations back and forth to the mechanics and more money out the door still have not solved the problem Last Week we installed a rebuilt FICM (mine) two days no issues, I am thinking alright we fixed it , then 3rd day it starts again dies multiple times Wed. night went to Autozone bought a scanguageII. I installed it thinking maybe I can catch a code before the main computer reset itself , but when it would die the codes where gone before the scII could scan them. Today We connected the IDS with the datalogger running took the truck for a 40 mile trip one way trying to repeat when it most often dies. got one hiccup on the return trip no codes burned another 10 gallons of fuel trying to repeat, nothing, Stopped to do some mothers day shopping and when I was pulling out of the parking lot it stumbled and almost died started running rough the data logger caught some codes I hope somebody can clarify them They are B1352 HEC Hybrid Electronic cluster U1261 HEC P0278-60 PCM cylinder 6? I think and P040-60 PCM has something to do with the EGR as I recall interesting thing is it has run rough since then. I should note in response to Cheezit the number 8 injector has not been contributing much for some time . I have been waiting to replace it thinking another would fail soon also since I have had multiple injector failures. Cheezit do you think a single injector would cause it to die randomly? and How can I throw codes for a Hybrid??? and would the egr and cylinder codes be a byproduct of the main issue or could they cause the problem? Sure would like to find the source of this problem thanks again for all who are trying to help
Hybrid codes are for the dash--Hybrid electrical cluster.

Looks like he already answered your question about injector failure causing the dying and you got a P0278 injector code.
the u code for the hec... hybird electric cluster.. thats were that came from.. My guess is this is a byproduct.
pull the egr valve and see if there is a lot of carbon... BUT this should not casue a pcm to reset. but it can kill the engine and make it run poorly.
pull the drivers valve cover and check both injector 6 and 8 for damaged coils, missing coil bolts ect..
thanks for the quick replys guys Looks like I will be opening it up again will keep you posted what happens ANd thanks for the thread and pics Unreal 04 It is all starting to make more sense now
Looks like we have found the problem replaced injector 6 and 8 since we had them out the both are still intact no loose bolts etc. after mechanic put it back together it wouldnt start spent a couple of hours checking everything he could and then started messing with the main harness wires at the ficm plug was able to get it to fire but would die continued with the wires and was finally able to get it to run . Zipped tied the plug to the Ficm and have not had a problem since over 1000 miles. We are thinking there must be some issue inside the ficm that was not fixed when i had it rebuilt think I will carry some extra zip ties with me just in case.
Howdie I am having very similar trouble with me 05 f250, did you ever come to a conclusion of what happened? Apsolutely any info would help, it's starting to drive me crazy ! Thanks alot, simon
