What trim level?

I'm extremely well-pleased with my 2000 described below.

I guess I average around 15 mpg around town in stop-and-go average driving.

There isn't anything congenitally wrong with the 2000's of which I'm aware (like half of the 2001's!).

The previous upkeep is everything! There USED to be a "stickie post" at the top of this forum listing that has a "what to look for" that you could read before buying a truck. What happened to that, guys???

Look to see if theres any back and forth play in the turbo wheel. Check to see how the fluids look, smell and taste... Dont do that last part Has anything been done to the truck as far as mods? or is it all stock? With winter fuel city driving with my DP tuner on 80 economy I get 12ish. Hwy winter fuels 14.5ish. On summer fuel you can add about 1-2mpg to both of them. My set up and mods are in my signature.

Make sure there isn't any rust on the oil tank!! That will set you back $1,000 minimum unless you can pull your own motor.

I have the 4.10 rear end so it hurts the fuel economy a bit, especially at higher speeds. I drive ~100 miles round trip daily on state highway (55-60 MPH, level) with few stop signs or traffic lights. This route gets me 15.5-16 MPG in the winter and 18-19 MPG in the summer. Interstate is 70MPH limit and at 70-75 MPH, I lose 1.5-2 MPG.
