Hi, this not so much along the same lines,but years ago i read somewhere on
the older cars especially fords you would them going the road with yellow head lights and that problem was supposed to be a bad ground,also unless
it has changed i believe fords regulators are grounded on the fender where
they are mounted. just food for thought.

mine did the same thing (it is however a 91 with a 300) it turned out to be the plug behind the gauges that runs the battery light was unplugged, plugged it in (after spending almost 300 bucks on new parts) and it worked fine
