okay, with that one i can definitely hear a difference... what would be the best way to figure it out? just start taking stuff apart? take it to a local shop??? any suggestions???
Just keep doing research on here and hope more people chime in. If jim from rosewood says its injectors id tend to belive him. Id try to stay away from taking it to a shop unless you have deep pockets.
I tried to post yestarday but DSL dropped.
What I would do is remove the valve covers, start the truck and unplug the injectors one at a time and see if you can find the one injector (or more? do them all) that does NOT make the engine stumble when you unplug it. This is the one NOT firing.
Then, you can swap the valve cover gasket and under cover harness one at a time to the other side, re-start and see if that intial cylinder still does not work or if the problem moved with the vc gasket OR under cover harness.
This will help narrow down if it is an injector or the gasket/wiring.
If you see it is the initial injector still not firing after swapping parts, I would swap that injector quickly with the one next to it to make sure it's not the IDM or other wiring issue. If the injector is the culprit it won't fire in the new hole either. If it's something else then that initial cylinder still won't fire.
symptoms are when i try to start it when the engine is not warm thats what it sounds like (also if i shut it down when its not warm it sounds not good) if i start at op temp all is well. any ideas?
Yup....Wheelie's sounds a bit different than what I'm used to. Two things in particular. First, I don't hear near as much of a LumpLumpLumpLumpLump in his. Second when he lets off the throttle it goes back to a solid idle immediately with no stumbling around before it "finds" it's beat again.
Wheelie, I assume when you went from high speed to idle you did a quick drop off the go pedal????
DZL JIM, many many thanks for the good diagnostics!
Ya mine dont have a loping sound like some do, And yes mine dont stumble at all when i let go of the pedal from reving, Which i love, before it use to stumble around till it caught itself but then i swaped the injectors and had them rebuilt by jim and that took care of that problem

I guess I can't hear anything too bad here, what are you asking for sure?
