MLPS connector repair or replace?

MLPS connector repair or replace?
I have read and searched and what not.
Getting codes and problems that are pointing to MLPS needing replaced. Started with a no start unless I held my Shifter up past park, then code 634 and 654.
From a long time transmission gasket leak it looks like black sludge all underneath. MLPS and connectors covered with black sludge.
I took connector off and tried to start cleaning and grease but it didnt clear codes.
Connector is very brittle, 2 of the plastic side tabs broke off with barely any pressure.
Does the updated MLPS come with a new connector head or do I replace the current one? I mean the piece on wires go into, not sure if it will stay on with only the tabs on 1 side.....
Suggestions plz.

You did not say what year.
If you get the 95 Motorcraft kit it includes a MLPS with the connection on the top...not toward the rear and harness connector that you need and three grommets...6,7 and 8 wire depending on what you have. I THINK it is good for 92-95 models E4OD.

the MLPS on mine has a top mounted connector now.
I have owned it maybe a month now.
I need a new connector since the tabs are broken on mine. Guess I will just order the 95 Motorcraft kit so I get the new connector with it.
