shifter question
what is the advantage of getting one of these expensive shifters like the ones below and others like them is it just the park and revers lockouts or what.

i see a lot of the second one in both cars and trucks realy only see the top one in race cars.

Bling mostly. Some people like the floor shifter better than column style. Ratchet style shifters may be good for racing/bogging, but can be a pain off roading. And yes, I've had both.
