Steering box rebuild
The steering box is leaking like a sieve and rebuilt or used boxes aren't too expensive but I can buy a rebuild kit fit around $50 or so. Is this something that anyone has horror stories about and should just avoid doing it myself? I am checked out on hydraulics and won't blink at rebuilding a master cylinder with a new kit of seals, is a steering box anything like that?

I would also agree. You can replaced all the seals easily enough, but the shafts tend to wear and leak despite new seals. Red Head will replace whatever needs replacing. More money, but you'll get a very good product. I'm probably going to have Lares Corp. rebuild mine since they are only a couple hours from me and will save on shipping costs.
