I have a 96 f250 with a 460 and im doing an exhaust. i have 3in headers and im going to do 3in true dual hallow cats but i don't know what to do for mufflers. I want it to be loud but sound good, any suggestions?
cant go wrong with magnaflows, there are a straight through design with stainless steel packing so it wont blow out after time and are fairly mellow at idle and crusing but sound great at WOT.thast what i run on my mustangs and the wifes 04 explorer
Ive got a 96 with a 460 and I run headers into 3" SS with an 18" bodied magnaflow and it sounds amazing... very deep tone, well behaved around town but step on it and watch out...... I've embarrassed quite a few of the cheby guys with there fancy exhausts when they get up beside me and they stomp on it... .had a few follow me to the gas station to ask what I have under it too...then they are floored when I tell em its not a dual exhaust.. Just can't beat the sound of a good flowing big block.. I figured I'd save some money and about 40lbs with my single exhaust plus duals are hard to do with dual tanks....and man am I glad I did...
BTW, I replaced a dronemaster (flowmaster) with the magnaflow...lol Way, way, way better sound... But the best part is that I got rid of that damn drone inside the cab when cruising down the highway....
I have flowmaster 40 series but after about 4 years its rusting out at the ends but it sound really good and loud I may try another muffler but i have to admit the flowmaster 40 series sounds really cool.I may try the magnaflow next if its as loud?
