Ok here is what I have done so far. The IPR appeared to be leaking so I replace the o-rings and cleaned it. I also found that my HPX hose had a pin hole in it spraying oil everywhere, replaced that. I have had oil in the valley during the replacement of both of the above mentioned. I cleaned the oil out. I have even leaned over the engine and had my daughter rev the truck up to 2k to look for leaks. I can't find any. I have used a mirror on a stick to look under stuff (that's how I found the HPX hose leaking) and cannot find this leak. I do know that is definitely oil. Its black and nasty. I have done the fuel pump enough times to know its not that THIS time. Please give me some ideas where else to look....Oh one more thing I did replace the o-rings on the fittings that attach to the head for the HPX hose. I think I covered everything I have done. Ooops the last thing I have been all over this site trying to find info on this. I have found info on everything I have done.
Its right under the Hpop by the IPR, you have to remove the Hpop to replace the o-ring.
But you should be able to spot it with an inspection mirror standing on your head facing north after 2 cases of beer.
The HPOP blow off valve? I'm not new to the site but this is the first I have heard of this thing. I guess I will do a hand stand and try and find it. Should this thing leak when idling? I will also go check the plug below the alternator.
Thanks fellas.
As you said that maybe the IPR was leaking which its in the front I recommend you to check the o-rings in the HPOP fittings.
But first you have to clean all the valley very well, and then put some rags in every pull there and start the motor short time, and then check the rags and see where is the first which catch oil and then you can investigate what part is leaking (front, middle, or rear).
Good luck. the worst part its to clean everything.
Whats the trecommended process for cleaning? Blake Cleaner, Carb Cleaner, good ole scrubbing or another cleaner/degreaser, pressure washer?
You can use anything you have in hand in an emergency, but I prefer simple green or brake cleaner and no pressure washer just garden hose pessure water.
Joey told me it's fixable, but you have to take the pump out so you dont loose the bb and the spring that are behind it, but there is an o-ring there and it can leak.
I doubt it will leak at idle.
But when your driving and the pump is creating pressure, it will leak.
It's designed so that if the pump produces over x pressure, it redirects oil back to the crank case.
i think its 3200 or 3400 PSI.
So bad o-ring and oil there would cause a leak while driving,
Mine leaks bad when the truck is warm and i'm on the high way.
Leaves a nice dollar sized puddle when i stop for a minute.
it just collects up in the valley and makes its way out.
I'm not 100% positive, but the nut you see on the top right above the IPR.
I'm pretty sure thats it.
Is it possible for the oil to be coming out of the big circle of the hpop on the back? I hope I'm making since? Not the plug next to the IPR nor the IPR but to the left on talyn's picture here. That's where I found the oil to be coming from finally. I drove the truck after cleaning the valley again. With towels down in the valley, thanks ROENTGEEP. I found out the oil is coming from up front and from the HPOP. At idle it has a slow drip and at higher speeds/loads I'm sure it squirts out of there. Now the fix? I will replace that plug's oring also but the oil was coming down the passenger side of the back of the HPOP.

William, the blow-off valve is the big 15/16" nut on the top, passanger side if the pump. The one your referring to is what Ford calls the non-serviceable port. Pretty close though.
To the OP, check that non-serviceable port and check the 11/16" nut on the back of the pump, directly in line with the high pressure lines. Just put a wrench on it. If it turns at all, remove it and replace the O ring(-6 boss). Make sure you use a Viton O ring, or you will be doing it again in a few weeks. 99% of the time, it's the rear plug.
He cleaned the valley and put rags down to figure it out FordGod1 and found oil up by the Hpop.
If the pedestal is leaking, it generally will just go right out behind the flexplate/flywheel and not migrate up to the Hpop unelss the drain hole is plugged with debris.
