I just cleaned my EGR valve and was driving to the gas station when my excursion stalled and now it won't start. It cranks but won't turn over. Could I have damaged the EGR valve causing this? Or is it something completely different? The truck isn't showing any codes so I am at a loss at the moment.

 

Mine did the same thing last weekend and it was the air intake had come loose. Also check the big vacuum lines that come off the intake tube to see if they have come off.

 

Checked all connections everything is where it is susposed to be, nothing loose. The egr valve rattles like there is something loose inside of it. could a bag egr valve be the problem? and shouldn't it give a code?

 

Mine was right after the second 200k service. Turned out to be the fuel pump.

 

I shot a bit of ether into the intake an truck started a little (ran for about 10-20 sec) then died. so i am thinking it might be a fuel problem. I am afrade to change the fuel filters as i need the truck so i will be taking it to the dealer tuesday and dont want them to two new filters. I can hear the fuel pump but not sure if its good. 81k on the truck.

2005 6.0L Excursion 4x4 AFE intake, FS2500 oil filter, Coolant filter

 

Not sure if the 6.0 has a cam sensor or not, but if it does, it could be that.

 

Got my truck back from the dealer. Well it wasn't anything to do with the EGR, it ended up being a bad IPR, they said it was sticking and only giving 60psi. Thanks for everyones help.
