This may be a dumb question however just want another opinion.
I am in the process of doing a 3g swap and temp. Wired it in, I went to start it and the starter kept cranking in the run position. It cranks untill I turn off the ignition, I think the problem is my ignition switch due to the fact that the soliniod stops when I key off. Could I have a wire wrong on my alty? Pretty simple install (3g) but it did not do this untill I swaped it.
I didn't touch those wires, they are still in the original location. I will try that and see if it helps, thanks radar.

That's probably because radar chimed in with the most likely solution that anyone could give you at that point. You got solid advice within 40 minutes of asking a question on a Friday night; I'd say you did pretty good.
Since you didn't touch that area, can you describe the rest of the connections you made in your swap?
Sure can fmc, I installed a brand new 3g with a factory mustang harness.
Power wire of the alt to 175 mega fuse to battery side of soliniod
yellow wire to pos
green/red excite wire to light or I terminal or so I think? Funny thing is is that there is no wire to the I on the v regulator, so after reading the 3g thread I gathered it was the same colour code is this where I am wrong??
Also the cab power wire, black/yellow stripe to pos battery post.
I believe that is it.
Btw I did thank radar for his sudgestion however without change to the three other posts on the soliniod I was hoping another sudgestion might have been given as well.
I realize I probably should've been a little more in depth with my op, I don't think I missed anything this time. Thanks for any help you can give!
