While on vacation last Jan, my 97 F250 starting motor would not turn. Relay under hood clicked. Tightened all battery connections, didn't help. Sparking at selenoid ground terminal. Tightened and starter worked.
Did not want to remove nut and clean connectors and terminal because the nut became difficult toward the end and I didn't want to break off the terminal stud in the boonies. Starter continued to sporadically fail and relay click even though nuts were tight. Home and cleaned everything and wait for continued clicking. Anything else I should be looking at?
Mine did the same thing a couple of moths ago. i changed the fender mounted solenoid and it still clicked, ended up being the starter. I would deff start with the solenoid they are cheap, around $25
