I had a guy with a portable mill come. He has a woodmizer. He is semi retired and takes his time with it. I think I have close to 2000 BF of red oak.
Look on craigslist. Sometimes you can find a deal on some. I picked up some 12" wide maple for $1.75 a bf and he let us pick through the pile.

Wow, that's a great price. What I really need now is some Poplar. I'm buiding some cabinet doors for the bathrooms, and since they will be painted, don't want to spend as much on Oak. I'll check CL, I never thought of that.
