I am buying some custom tunes for my SCT in the near future and was curious as to how to do it.
So far I have :
-Plugged my SCT into my truck and read my strategy
-Downloaded the SCT software into my laptop
-Plugged my SCT and formatted it (updated) to the newest software via laptop/sct site
I have a pretty good idea of how to do it but I was wondering if someone can steer me in the right direction ie: saving the folder, downloading to the system.
just save the custom tune to your desktop area. then hit the button that says load custom tunes or something like that. should give you a browse button. find the file on your desktop and it take less than 30 sec to download and your done.
I always go back to stock on my truck before I do ANY messing with the tune or sct updates.....
Yes, in some cases it's probably ok not to go back to stock...
but I didn't write that code, so I want a good baseline before 'they' start mucking with it
I just talked to Matt.....We have been talking through emails and even though he had a busy weekend, he still called me like he said he would....I just paid for the three tune package and get them tomorrow which I am very excited for.
I had alot of questions for Matt and like I figured, he had the answers.
The SL tune that is safe for non studded motors offers 30-40 more HP than the preloaded performance tune that my SF3 came with and it locks the TC up in 2nd gear to put the power to the rear much quicker. I cant wait to try this one.
The tune package also has an 8k tow that I doubt I'll ever use and the unlimitted tow which does not mess with the fueling parameters but has a trans program and the tow/haul is also reprogrammed to work better.
Matt turns off the EGR strategy on all of his tunes standard.
Anyway, I'll let you guys know how I like them.....which I guarantee I will LOVE them!
I just got the 3 tune special from Matt and they are great the shifting is so smooth and the power is great. The best $100 purchase for the truck I spent.
