88 F-250 Problems

Well where to start? It has a couple of issues holding it back to where i'd be 100% happy with it.

1. Front end has almost a wobble/vibration starting around 60 mph. Ball joints check out fine and replaced a bad wheel bearing which did little to improve anything. Tires were rebalanced to 0. Im wondering if its the leaf spring bushings or axle pivot bushings? Any suggestions?

2. Windsheild wiper motor works properly during the first ten or so minutes of operation and then sort of gets weird from there. So then it will only work on the high setting but the wipers are moving on the slower pace. I would suspect wiring but it works fine when first being used. Im at a loss here. Im thinking maybe a bad motor?

Any help???

How old are the tires and how bad was the bearing? You CAN balance a tire, and it still be "out of round"

Also, hopefully that wasn't a bubble balance (still in use anywhere?) Even a digital balance you can do 3 ways generally. One, single side balance which is not true balance. Two, inner balance which is when stick on weights are used in the center of the wheel so the rim is not damaged from tack on weights, also not a true balance. Three, two sided balance (it has a name that I cannot recall) and is the truest balance in most cases.

They were two sided balanced. The tires still are of my concern. I may rotate them to the back just to see if it changes anything. Im new to the leaf spring suspensions on the front of these trucks. Do they even have bushings in the purchs? I would say its death wobble but i dont think its that extreme yet.

Do you feel it in the steering wheel? I'd rotate like you said. At least that would rule them out if it doesn't change things. A bad wheel bearing can cause weird tire wear so even after it's been repaired the tire itself may still wobble. And, an out of round tire can actually cause premature bearing failure if it's on there long enough.

on a 4 wheel drive, the center pivot bushings in the front differential go bad, and the inner spring shackle bushings go bad. these bushings are normally forgotten about, because they are hard or impossible to see.
check your tie rod ends too.

as far as the wipers go, it sounds like the delay control box is going bad.

My tie rods are shot but would they cause a wobble/vibration? How would i get my hands on delay control box?

if the tie rod ends are bad ,that will definitely cause you problems at speed.
the wiper delay module should be bolted to the dash rite behind the wiper switch. the wires go into the delay module, then into the switch.
use the search function and search "wiper delay module repair".
you will find a few threads on how to repair the module.
what happens is that after years of abuse, the connections in the module break and need to be re soldered.

No matter mileage, only replace parts that need to be replaced......

If your tie rods are bad, change those.

My 1990 4x4 F250 has 377k miles and still has all the original bushings, leafs etc.

Been through to many ball joints and tie rods though.

tie rod ends first, then spring shackle bushings, and lastly center pivot bushings.
