Hello everyone,
I'm a complete newbie to this site and to building a 55' ford. The truck has been in the family for over 30 yrs. It currently has a straight 6 and a 3 speed.
What i'd like to do is put a 460 and a C6 in it. I have a donated 460 engine and a C6 and would like to use them since they're FREE.
So my concerns are:
1. Motor mounts for BBF 460
2. Headers
3. Transmission crossmember for C6
I like to ask questions so I dont waste money on the wrong parts. So thank you for all the advice ahead of time.
Welcome Jason, there are alot of people here that will be more than happy to help out and answer your questions. You are at least 1 step ahead of most who come here, you have a plan... There are alot of places to buy parts for your truck, LMC, Mid Fifties, Dennis Carpenter, Sacramento Vintage Ford, Mac's Antique Auto Parts, Speedway Motors, Summit Racing and so on. The first thing that you need to do before you go any farther is post pics of your truck...

Welcome to the forum, I'm a n00b here also. This is the best forum I have ever joined, everyone is more than helpful. In regards to finding parts for your truck, go to midfifty.com and order up a catalog. I believe it's free. Great people, very knowledgeable, and they have damn near everything you could ever want for your truck.
Good job on posting the pics. Lots of noobs have issues with that but looks like you are good to go.
The truck looks pretty darn good and more complete than mine was. Congrats again on the build and have fun with it.
And there are a few members that are running your drivetrain plans of the 460 and c6. Do some searches for drivetrain set ups and then click on the users who have the 460 and looks for their pics and send some PM's to them. Great people and great forum.
