I need to repolace my compressor on my Aerostar. When I engage the A/C system I get a loud lurch squeal sound EEERCH. I have searched for the parts and found them a DAP and Autozone and it appears I can only get the Compressor/Clutch assembly together. My question is How do I evac the A/C system to safely work on my truck? Thank you from FL.
Just take the parts to Ice Cold Air, if they are in your area. I know there is one by US19 in Clearwater. First, check to see if it has freon in it. Just use your key or a screwdriver or something to push down the little schrader valve on the a/c line. If it hisses, it has stuff in it. If not, it is empty, and you should have it converted over to 134A.
