On my 04 no. I do have the po611 code when i look for codes but no CEL on the dash.
To be more certain you should grab a multi meter and check your voltage at the FICM. It takes all of 5 minutes.
This way your better informed for what the dealer says about it.
This is the problem, I had a FICM that was upgraded to put out 58 volts instead of 48 volts so the P0611 code will always be there. I was told this code will not turn on my light.
Now I have a engine light on and my dealer is telling me the P0611 code is a "hard code" and is making my engine light come on. I took the truck in because I am having what i think are turbo problems. Lots of lag when taking off and then if I am pulling, even a light load and really watching how much accelrator i am giving it I will hit 30 PSI boost and go into limp mode. Anyhow I just wanted another opion on the light so I can talk the talk.
I also thought a 58volt upgrade would only throw a soft code. You are the 1st person i have heard of with a hard code, ie, CEL.
I think your CEL is related to your other problems and not the FICM being out of range.
Have you checked for other codes?
Hard to say but if you could borrow a 48v FICM you could install it and see if that makes the CEL go away.
I think its your turbo. If you dont have a code reader go to autozone, pepboys etc and have them come out and pull your codes. Write them down and then come post what they are.
If your dealer knows you have a modded FICM then they might be yanking your chain in the direction of buying a stock FICM from them.
Also, if know someone with a tuner on their 6.0 they can pull codes for you.

By what you describe, it appears you have the latest calibration strategy in your PCM that derates the output if it detects a turbo overboost condtion that sets a P0234 Turbo Overboost code, which WILL turn the Check Engine light on.
