best programer for 2010 6.4L power stroke?
Help what has any one learned? I have a 2010 6.4L power stroke and could use some help in the fuel mileage department. This isn't my 96 F350. the best I seem to do is 15 to 16 with me and the boss and an empty truck. What are the best programers for the 6.4L that I can reset when I want to pull a load?

I have the H&S mini maxx and am very happy with it. I have also remover the DPF/cat and muffler 4" straight pipe and getting anywhere between 2-6 mpg more all depends on how heavy my foot gets. But as senix says DPF on Banks is the way to go. I hope this helps ps these are the 3 main player in the field but becareful as some of the tuners will destroy your motor. just read thru some of the post and decide what fits you the best.

Sam, I'm counting on you for some good feedback. Our trucks are alike except I have the 4.30 axle so I'm gonna pay close attention to your results. The way I figure an extended warranty or a tuner cost about the same and I'm gonna do one or the other.

I just put the H&S minimax on with the dpf delete and S&B cold air intake. Initial results are stunning. I need to fill up and do some hand calc's, but its looking like at least 40-50% increase in mpg. It is a completely different truck. The display is small on the mini but very good graphics and easy to navigate

I found mine used on craigslist for $675 total, including the combo doc/dpf pipe. + $100 relicense fee. I checked all the info out before going to get it. (emails to spartan with all the vin, owner and serial info, relicense fees, etc). Only thing I didn't get was the SD card, but that took all of 10 minutes to make (had a spare).. I had the license files in my email before I actually had the equipment in my hand, and the tune files are downloadable from the Spartan site.
The PO bought a 2011 and took this off his 08.
At $1500 I wouldn't have done it.

my first mileage with the spartan/doc/dpf delete, 250 tune, today
what I would consider equivalent to my stock 12.5 around town.
some stop & go, some decent stretches of hiway.
6.753 gallons over 92.3 miles.. 13.66mpg, or a 9% gain.
same station fill to fill. the LOM was 23ish on the hiway section
and 20.5 on the return home with s&g. I had a long wait in the McDonalds line.. idle ugh..
the go pedal is a LOT more sensitive than before.. about 1/3 the pedal travel for the same speed.. oh, the above hiway was all at 70mph with cruise set.

Well, you have the DPF off and a tuner on so you just have an old fashion diesel truck. It should smoke, nice thick black smoke on hard accelleration.

Check out the great deals right now @ Spartan Diesel Technologies. With the DPF off you'll have no problem getting a legitimate 3-5 (hand calculated) MPG increase provided you can keep your foot from burying the skinny pedal! Believe it or not the higher HP tunes get better mileage. Spartan's DashDaq is arguably the best gauge display going, so when you're towing you'll have a great handle on how your engine's doing (tranny temp, EGT, boost, etc.). Comes with a ton of tunes too and changing them is no big deal...
If you're looking to save some money you can buy just the delete pipe and go with a DPF back exhaust later, and an aFe drop-in (NOT full CAI) with the stock air-box snorkle mod will do the trip and breathe plenty fine with those tunes...
Good luck, hope this helps...
