Which power steering pump?
I need a new power steering pump for my very early build '99 4x4 with V10 and bigger than stock tires. Any recommendations? (Notice, I am not asking for the cheapest, I want good to very good quality!)
It looks like at least 2 models of rebuilt Motorcraft pumps are available, STP8RM and STP122RM. The 122 is quite a bit more. Anyone know the difference?
I could not find any PN's on the pump when looking at it still in the truck.

A quick Google shows that 122 pump being for the later models, like 2003+ or so.
The 8 pump is like 99-2002, or 97-2001, depending on which web site I looked at.
I would ask this in the Superduty forum, lots of people get better steering boxes, and upgrade the pump at the same time.
I wouldn't, however, go nuts getting a bigger/better pump than stock, unless you want your steering box to fail soon
