When the truck is started and cold the check eng lite will come one and the truck runs pretty ragged. When the truck warms the light goes out and it runs fine. Put it on the instrument at Auto Zone when the lite was on and it said no error. Could it be the UVC harness?

Code readers from Auto Zone are not compatible with Powerstrokes.
Could be a number of things from your description of symptoms. Since the SES light comes on, it would be best to pull the codes using a compatible scanner to help locate the source of the problem.
Post your location. There may be another member who can scan the truck for you. You really need pull the codes to find out what's going on with the truck. As posted above, the auto parts store scanners don't work on these trucks.
Had the same problem a couple of years ago.. It is the famous under the valve cover piece of junk plastic 9 pin connector/s has or is coming loosing.. There are plastic locking tabs that hold the connector together and from the heat and oil, they just warp and unlock the connnector which fires your glow plugs and injectors.. If you read your fault codes, you will probably get a P1316... here is a link to show you how to fix it... all labor except for the 2 quarters (coins modified).. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...ck-shakes.html
