just clicks when turn the key

1999 550 7.3 starter good batteries good replaced solinoid,checked about everything minor.what could it be.if it sits for a hour or more it will crank over slowly but wont fire up,but then goes back to that single load click

And u r sure the batteries are good?? Both of them? Are they both over 12 volts? Sure sound like weak batteries to me

Sure sounds like weak batteries, if not, then a bad connection somewhere.

12.5 both,i was in a jam with other 350 and 450 truck so i had to pull a battery out that 550 it started fine with one battery not plugged in and below 0.last week the 550 stalled as i let the clutch out has not fired up since,turned over a few times but 9 out 10 times just that loud click

You probably ran the one battery down to nothing. The draw between the GP and the starter is huge. I ran an amprobe and saw 110A That is more than what most people have coming into their houses.
