Sterling 10.25
I have a Sterling 10.25 in my 86 now, the pinion bearing in shot in it and i wanted to go to 4.10 gears.
Well i bought another Sterling 10.25 from a guy off craigs list for 150 bucks. it has 4.10 gears. The axle came out of an 87 f-350 and i guess it has ABS on it. The 2 axles look the same but im curious if this is gunna be an issue?
Any thoughts on this would be great, thanks for reading!

Why do you think there is ABS? I maybe wrong but I don't think ABS came until later than 87. Did you measure the spring perches & pads to be sure they were the same width. Same yokes? Should be good to go. Drain & refill with new gear oil.

i have an 86 f250hd with a 10.25 open carrier.
i bought an axle from the junkyard with a 10.25 limited slip and abs from a newer vehicle(can't remember the year).
the only difference is your carrier also has an abs ring on it and the axle housing has the abs sensor on it.
i would recommend you check the o-ring on the sensor to make sure it does not leak or need replacing.

The RABS sensor will have no effect on your application.
There's nothing different about the brakes.
Just make sure the breather is connected to the brake line splitter and don't forget to change your speedo grive gear.

My '87 has it (11/86 build date).
I think it came with the changed body style.
