junkyard treasures.

This last week I was at the local junk yard walking around to see what they had and was amazed when I saw a couple 61-66's nothing special they were pretty beat up, but my jaw dropped when I saw two 66 trucks side by side with almost perfect aluminum grills that no one had touched. I tried to get them out with what tools I had with no luck. A week later I came back and they were still there! And a row over was another one! I was determined to get at least one and I came out with 2 for 40 bucks. One is perfect super bright with literally one little ding from a rock and it also had perfect bezels. The other one has a few scratches and a couple dents here and there but otherwise in great shape for being in a junkyard.

Sounds like a good fine treasure; I see you didn't mention the location for others of us to reap the booty as well. lol The biggest problem in my area is ebay sellers are stripping the goods from the trucks before us enthusiast can get our hands on them; before market price goes up!
I usually have a tough time getting them old rusted extruded nuts removed.

I found a 66 grille in a junkyard here in GA last year, must have taken me two hours and four busted knuckles to get off, sort of makes me wonder if I want to remove my 65 to replace it as much trouble as I'll go through.
