i shut my 1989 f150 with a v6 off 5days ago and i went back out to start it and it will turn over until the battery dies but wont fire.i changed the distributor, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, ignition control module, fuel pump.fuel relay, filter, and nothing still any hints what might be going on please help it's my everyday drive
Sorry for the bad run of luck. Are you talking about a 300, straight 6; 302, 351, etc. V8?
I would check the coil. It sounds like you changed everything except the coil. It could be as simple as replacing it. Disconnect the primary coil wire from the distributor. Take a long screwdriver inserted in the end of the coil wire and use it to ground near the frame. If you have a blue spark, it's good. If it's yellow, replace the coil.
Also was there any problem leading up to the last day you drove it...rough starting on the days leading up until the last day you drove it. Also take a hair dryer and apply heat to the coil to get it warm. Not melted....Get the body of the coil warm and then with the battery Fully charged, try to start the engine. I had a brand new coil do that and I had to RMA it back to MSD ignition.
