Hey guys new to the site and it is great. Just bought a 63 unibody for an extensive restoration, will be posting pics soon. it is all original every part under hood I have replaced still had ford stamp on them. It has a 292 with three on the tree, was strictly a farm vehicle normal rust spots and only two minor dents at the bed. It has 70,000 original miles on it also. Well I am looking for a seat padding kit for it. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Also if anyone knows where a good hood is I am looking for one of those also. Thanks in advance and again great site.
I ordered 4" for the seat and 2" for the back. I got the recommendation from a guy that has redone a couple of seats.
I couldn't find the right color for my seats and I'm sending mine out to get redone. I have the the foam still in the shrink wrap bag they shipped it in - never opened. Send me a PM if you're interested.

I went to the local chain yardage shop ( Joanne's Fabrics) , and in their upholstery section, they had all of the foam that I needed. The price was very inexpensive, and it was local in other words no shipping fees and I didn't have to wait. I spent about 25 bucks for the padding if i recall correctly. The lady there was very helpful too. The old cushions had started to push through the springs because the the jute backing material (burlap) had deteriorated so badly there was nothing to support the padding. she suggested going to Harbor Freight and buying a heavy canvas drop cloth and using it instead of the Burlap, it is a much stronger material, and less likely to rot.It is easier to stretch tight and attach with the hog rings, and has a cleaner look in and under the seat. Besides it was much cheaper that way, I bought a 10' X12' for about 4 bucks.
Thanks for all the advice my sister in law owns a upholstery shop but said that the wherever she gets her foam from it is very expensive, so that is why I am looking to see what kind of prices I can get and from where. I know LMC has kits for other years but I do not know what is interchangeable with what years if anyone can let me know that I would appreciate that. This is my first classic truck have always done cars so still trying to get all the info I can. The drop cloth sounds like a great Idea I will give it a try.

I did mine last April. I just cut the old upholstery apart used it as a pattern, and then did my own Two tone, it looks awesome, mine is creme colored leather with the sides and back in Coffee colored Leather. It took me about 6 hours start to finish, not including waiting for the paint to dry.... I repainted the springs and frame assembly with black paint as they used to be! I was done in one day though. It was hella lot easier then my boat had been. The drop cloth canvas is holding up very well. much sturdier then the old Burlap, and nothing falls off of it like the old Burlap did. I opted for a bit heavier foam too, it has made it a bit more comfortable, and I built it up a bit along the edges, and sides the old seat padding when it was still good had a tendency to sag along the edges and sides, which would cause me to lean towards the door when driving, building it up a bit cured that. Actually the bench is more comfortable then the seats in my 02 Mustang GT. The new cars have no springs in the seats, and have very firm foam...
Seats sound cool. My truck is all black inside and out, so I am going to do the seat in black and a red trim. My sister in law said she had the drop cloth material for the seat and is going to check some more places also for the foam. She said we can get it all reupholstered for under a hundred so a lot better than I was thinking. She said she would do the work for free I just have to buy material. I will talk to her about putting a little extra cushioning in. Thanks for the advice, my seat is all torn up at the drivers side. I just got my truck running, it had been sitting up for awhile, and did all the normal plugs wires volt regulator etc, putting new tires on it tomorrow. Started her up and that 292 sounds great. I will hopefully be starting on getting her sanded down in about a month for new paint, body and Chassis.
Sounds Great,,, put some pix up in an album when you get some time! I would love to see the progress as you go! I finished my engine in December, and now I am getting ready to take on the rear end, and new springs.. I want to lower it about 3 inches or so! My engine block is a 352, but it has been bored and stroked, it has 390 GT heads, which are ported and polished, with a Comp Cam, Edelbrock intake, and an Edelbrock 650 thunder series carb. I am waiting on the headers That I am having made, By Sanderson headers, then I will do the exhaust system. Currently it has stock Ford Manifolds about 4 feet of pipe , and then Cherry bomb Glass packs with turn downs. The Stock Ford exhaust manifolds are choking it. I bought a set of headman headers but they didn't work with the cross member for the trans, so I await teh Sandersons.... SO are you going all black on the paint?
yeah I am going to go back to the black once I get rid of the rust color I have going on now. I am going to keep most everything on it stock. Just a cool truck and have never seen another unibody running around here anywhere. I will pull the engine and rebuild it, but need to get the rust taken care of first, and then get it painted. I have got a bunch of before pics of it but just got a new laptop and havn't got them on here yet. Also been working on it till about 8 o'clock every night since I have gotten it. The wirring was all messed up and have been fighting that but finally have got it all figured out. Going to stick with a primer black till after engine pull and then will go with a nice gloss black. hopefully I can get some pics of it up in an album this weekend. Will post a new thread when I get them uploaded.
I just re-did my bench. I was able to re-use the molded "orange" foam on both the seat and the back, and bolstered it with high-density upholstery foam from www.onlinefabricstrore.net. I used the 2"x24"x108" piece, at a cost of about $50 + shipping. I covered the foam parts with 10oz weight duck canvas 6yd x 6ft, which I bought off of amazon.com, for about $30. I used a can of spray adhesive to hold the original foam to the new foam to the canvas. For the bench seat cover, I went with one from national parts depot. The seat cover came with hog rings and pliers of better quality than I expected.
